  • Campaign-level ZIP exclusions — PMax geo lives in campaign settings, not the asset group
  • Donut / exclusion rings around the area you serve
  • Sized for Google's 10,500 location targets per campaign

ZIP lists use Census ZCTA polygons. Google Ads may expand ZIP reach slightly — we do not claim identical polygons to Google's.

Does ZipFencer work for Performance Max location exclusions?

Yes. Performance Max location targeting lives at the campaign, so ZipFencer builds ZIP inclusion and exclusion lists you paste into campaign location settings — not the asset group. Drop a pin or import locations, choose an exclude-focused mode such as a donut or exclude-only ring, then export paste batches or Google Ads Editor CSV on Starter and Pro. Use the exclusion list to cut geo bleed outside the area you serve. Lists use Census ZCTA polygons; Google Ads may expand ZIP reach slightly beyond the ZCTA shape, so treat this as a practical control rather than a pixel-perfect match to Google's map. ZipFencer does not auto-sync live Ads — revisit exclusions with geo reports.

Are ZipFencer ZIP lists identical to Google Ads ZIP polygons?

No. ZipFencer lists use Census ZCTA polygons, which are the public geography Google's ZIP targeting is based on but are not a 1:1 copy of Google Ads location polygons. Google may expand ZIP reach slightly, and Presence versus interest still changes who sees ads inside those ZIPs. Build the list in ZipFencer, paste or CSV-import it, then sanity-check a few border ZIPs in Google Ads before you scale spend. This ZCTA-versus-Google gap is the accuracy claim we make — we do not advertise identical polygons.

Do I need to sign up to try PMax ZIP exclusions?

No. The live demo needs no signup: one location, radius targeting, and a watermarked 25-ZIP sample so you can see the export format. Donut, bullseye, full lists, and Google Ads Editor CSV unlock on Starter at $24/mo. Pro at $49/mo adds polygon zones and cloud sync. For a true PMax exclusion ring you will want a paid plan's donut or exclude-only mode — the demo is radius-only so you can confirm the map and list workflow first.
